At the end of the 1970's, the bell bottom blues and polyester pains of the disco movement began to fade away as the screaming guitar and pounding drum sounds from bands like Van Halen and AC/DC transcended 80's radio into the hard partying hair band sounds that rocked the message of "All Excess - All The Time".
It was a decade of Reaganomics, Miami Vice, and Daisy Duke. It was a good time growing up in Berger Missouri. It was the quintessential "Small Town" that John Mellencamp made cool. It was in this atmosphere that the Berger Jams of the 80's were born. For one night of the year, the Berger City Park became a sold out arena full of young people ready to rock the night away. Not with big name rock gods, but with the popular local cover bands of the time. Providing "jammers" with the perfect intercourse of music and socializing. Berger Jams continued to grow throughout the decade until the early 90's.
Now more than a decade and a half after the last of the Berger Jams, the economy sucks and we could all use a party like that again.
So many people have such awesome memories of these events that now, this NEW Berger Jam for a new millenium may very well turn out to be the ultimate "class reunion" of the 80's generation.
We invite all that remember those big Berger parties of the past, as well as anyone who can appreciate beer, babes, bikes, and GOOD bands to come back down to our "Small Town" and return to the "decade of decadence" once again....if only for one night.
